Design Study of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor with Low Speed This paper introduces and analyzes the reasons and corresponding countermeasures of torque fluctuation in gearless permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) which is applied in elevator. Prototype motor has been assembled in elevator , and results of examination proved the correctness of design philosophy. Keywords : permanent magnet synchronous motor with low speed ; elevator ; ripple torque ; alveolus torque The development of power electronics technology, NdFeB permanent magnet materials, and signal processor DSP with fast computing capability has brought new opportunities for permanent magnet synchronous motors. The low-speed gearless permanent magnet synchronous motor used in modern elevators is a new traction technology. The position sensor on the rotor gives real-time information about the rotor position. When powered by a dedicated inverter, it always controls the stator current vector on the q axis in real time, so that the PMSM can obtain the same excellent torque characteristics as a DC motor. In order to obtain accurate leveling accuracy, the motor must maintain stable operation with low vibration and low noise at extremely low speeds or even close to zero speed. Low-speed stability is an important technical indicator of wide-speed permanent magnet synchronous motors, so it brings strict requirements to the motor design.
