The MAX19997A dual-channel downconverter mixer is a general-purpose, highly integrated, and versatile downconverter that provides high linearity performance and low noise figure for 1800MHz to 2900MHz basestation applications. The MAX19997A fully supports low-side and high-side LO injection architectures for WiMAX™, LTE, WCS, and MMDS wireless infrastructure applications from 2300MHz to 2900MHz, providing 8.7dB gain, +24dBm input IP3, and 10.3dB NF in the low-side configuration and 8.7dB gain, +24dBm input IP3, and 10.4dB NF in the high-side configuration. The addition of an external tuning element (bypass inductor) to each RF port further extends the range of the high-side LO injection architecture down to 1800MHz. The device integrates baluns at the RF and LO ports. The device also includes an LO buffer, two double-balanced mixers, and a pair of differential IF output amplifiers. The MAX19997A requires a typical 0dBm LO drive and a supply current guaranteed to be less than 420mA to achieve the expected linearity specifications. The MAX19997A is available in a compact 6mm x 6mm, 36-pin, lead-free thin QFN package with an exposed pad. Electrical performance is guaranteed over the extended temperature range of TC = -40°C to +85°C.
