Based on the analysis of the effect of temperature on the reliability and safety of IC chip operation, a temperature protection circuit that can be implemented using CMOS technology is designed using the PTAT current that is proportional to temperature and the PN junction voltage with a negative temperature coefficient. The circuit has a simple structure and good process compatibility. At the same time, the temperature hysteresis characteristic can better protect the chip and avoid thermal oscillation. The HSPICE simulation results using the 0.5um CMOS process library show that the circuit has a strong ability to suppress the drift of the temperature hysteresis characteristic caused by changes in process parameters and power supply voltage.
