The construction of face tracking system has become a hot topic in modern computer vision research. A real-time face tracking system based on OpenCV and USB is proposed. Using the HAAR feature-based face detection algorithm and the ability to judge the distance, a Windows Win32 program is written to call the serial port API and communicate with the lower microcontroller STC12C5410. The CH341A chip is used to load the RS232 serial port data into the USB protocol data stack to realize USB transmission. The microcontroller controls the FUTABA servo to obtain the coordinate information of the upper computer face detection, and adjusts the servo rotation angle in real time to keep the face in a certain threshold range in the middle of the image to achieve face tracking. The system has a simple structure and can be used as a module for access control security systems and to build other robot research platforms.
