The original meaning of computer is \"computer\", which was invented by the inventor for the purpose of calculation. Today, its tentacles have extended to all areas of society, playing a decisive role in promoting the progress of today\'s material civilization. In 1642, French physicist Blaise Pascal (1623-1662) invented the gear adder and subtractor; in 1673, German mathematician G.N.W.O. Leibniz (1646-1716) added multiplication and division to Pascal\'s gear adder and subtractor, making a mechanical arithmetic unit that can perform four arithmetic operations; in 1822 and 1834, British mathematician Charles Babage (1791-1871) designed the difference engine and the analytical engine, respectively, and planned to use steam as power. Due to the limitations of process and technology, it did not succeed, but its design ideas constitute the basic framework of today\'s computer hardware system - five basic components: input, processing, storage, output and control. In 1936, American Howard Aiken (1900-1973) proposed the idea of using electromechanical methods rather than purely mechanical methods to realize the Babbage Analytical Engine, and successfully built the MARK-I computer in 1944. MARK-1 is the world\'s earliest general-purpose automatic electromechanical computer. This is why the international computer community calls Babbage the \"father of computer.\"
