Pinhole defect is an important factor affecting the quality of metal foil, and non-contact detection method based on image processing is an effective way to detect pinholes. This paper briefly introduces the image processing in the real-time detection of pinholes on the surface of metal foil, and proposes an improved image binarization algorithm to effectively and quickly separate the pinholes on the surface of metal foil from the background area. The experimental results show that the real-time detection system for pinholes on the surface of metal foil has high accuracy and fast speed.
