This paper discusses the design principle and VHDL implementation of a 10-5 precision storage timer with FLEX10K device as virtual timing core in physical experiments, using Delphi 5.0 to realize the instrument operation interface under Windows 95/98, and completing the external multi-segment continuous time storage timer under the intelligent control of a PC. Keywords: virtual carrier; intelligent; human-computer interface; error analysis
