Research on speech time adjustment based on WSOLA algorithm The current PSOLA algorithm has a large amount of computation when adjusting the time, and it is difficult to achieve real-time speed change without changing the pitch. The WSOLA algorithm that uses waveform similarity to solve the problem of speech time adjustment has been proved to be able to generate high-quality speech by experiments; it is efficient and robust in algorithm, and can achieve online speech time adjustment within a continuous range by modifying the adjustment factor α. This algorithm has been applied in the digital speech teaching system, with good real-time quality and high quality speech. PSOLA, a popular algorithm for time-scale modification, has heavy computation, which is very difficult for onling operation. Waveform similarity is proposed for tackling the problem of time-scale modification of speech, which is called WSOLA algorithm, through experiments produces the high quality speech output, is algorithmically and computationally efficient and robust, and allows for on-ling processing with arbitrary time-scaling actors chosen over a wide continuous range of values. The algorithm has already been used in the tutoring system of the digital speech, having good real-time quality and high quality speech.
