TopStor 4162 disk array Redundant Arrays of Independent Disks (RAID) technology was proposed by the University of California, Berkeley in 1987. The original purpose of the development was to combine small, cheap disks to replace large, expensive disks to reduce the cost of large-scale data storage. At the same time, it was also hoped that redundant information would be used to prevent data access from being lost when a disk fails, thereby developing a certain level of data protection technology. RAID technology provides higher performance indicators, data integrity, and data availability than conventional disk storage, especially in today\'s increasingly prominent bottleneck problem of I/O always lagging behind CPU performance. RAID solutions can effectively fill this gap.
