TERMS FOR PRINTED CIRCITS 1. Subject matter and scope of application 1-1 This standard specifies the commonly used terms and definitions of printed circuit technology. 1-2 This standard applies to printed circuit substrates, printed circuit design and manufacturing, inspection and printed board assembly and related fields. 2. General terms 2.1 PRINTED CIRCUIT Printed components or printed wiring formed according to a predetermined design on an insulating substrate, as well as conductive patterns combining the two. 2.2 PRINTED WIRING Conductive patterns formed on an insulating substrate, used for connecting components, but not including printed components. 2.3 PRINTED BOARD A general term for printed circuits or printed wiring finished boards. It includes rigid, flexible and rigid-flexible single-sided, double-sided and multi-layer printed boards. 2.4 SINGLE-SIDED PRINTED BOARD A printed board with conductive patterns on only one side. 2.5 DOUBLE-SIDED PRINTED BOARD A printed board with conductive patterns on both sides.2.6 MULTILAYER BPRINTED BOARD A printed board with more than two layers of conductive patterns and insulating materials bonded together alternately, and with the conductive patterns between the layers interconnected. This term includes rigid and flexible multilayer printed boards and multilayer printed boards that combine rigidity and flexibility.2.7 RIGID PRINTED BOARD A printed board made of a rigid substrate.2.8 RIGID SINGLE-SIDED PRINTED BOARD A single-sided printed board made of a rigid substrate.2.9 RIGID DOUBLE-SIDED PRINTED BOARD A double-sided printed board made of a rigid substrate.2.10 RIGID MULTILAYER PRINTED BOARD A multilayer printed board made of a rigid substrate.2.11 FLEXIBLE PRINTING BOARD is a printed board made of flexible substrate. It can have or not have a flexible cover layer.
