The development of motor controllers is an important part of electric vehicle development. This paper proposes a method for rapid control prototyping (RCP) of motor controllers based on NI Compact RIO programmable automation controller (PAC). By describing the main architecture, functions, and implementation forms of PAC, combined with the field-oriented control method of permanent magnet synchronous motors, the specific implementation method of Compact RIO in rapid control prototyping of motor controllers is described. Experiments have shown that the rapid control prototyping method based on PAC is suitable for the development of motor controllers for electric vehicles.
