The research and implementation of H.264 real-time encoder is a hot issue in the field of video communication research. This paper introduces the optimization of H.264 encoder based on TMS320DM642 platform, focusing on the assembly-level optimization of integer DCT transform, quantization and matching error function based on DM642. Finally, the EDMA and Cache level optimization of H.264 encoder are introduced. Experimental results show that this encoder can basically achieve CIF real-time encoding.
