Abstract: This paper designs and implements an online system upgrade method for embedded devices based on the S3C2440A chip. The functional use and system structure of online system upgrades are studied, and a relatively unique upgrade entry design method is introduced in particular, thereby analyzing how to implement online system upgrades. The upper-side USB driver interface of the system driver layer and the NORFLASH driver on the lower-side as well as the more difficult USB device driver implementation method are described. By describing the specific logical flow of the online upgrade process, a reliable design method for the private interaction protocol at both ends of the system function layer is described, and the excellent upgrade speed and upgrade success rate in actual application of the system are analyzed.
