Design of RS232 Communication Module (UART) Design of RS232 Communication Module (UART) Abstract This paper introduces the principle of Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART), and uses the programmable logic device FPGA as the core control component. Based on the ultra-high-speed hardware description language VHDL, the UART design is completed on the 2sc200PQ208-5 chip of the SpartanⅡ series of Xilinx. After testing, the design fully meets the design requirements.
