In order to achieve effective transmission, storage, retrieval, encryption and recovery of digital images. Images are often subjected to DCT transformation. Based on the analysis of the characteristics and properties of the DC coefficients of DCT transformation, an algorithm for generating the original image contour using the DC coefficients of DCT is designed. The original image is divided into non-overlapping blocks, and each block is subjected to DCT transformation. The DC coefficients of each block are compared with the average value of the DC coefficients to obtain a binary matrix. The binary image constructed with the binary matrix is ​​the original image contour. If the image is subjected to block DCT transformation during the image processing process, other data is lost, and only the DC coefficients of each block are retained, the contour of the original image can be generated, and a reduced image of the original image can also be generated. It is proved that the original image contour generated by DC coefficient binarization is the same as that generated by average pixel binarization.
