Rare earth permanent magnet brushless DC motor is actually a DC motor that uses electronic commutation instead of mechanical commutation, thus maintaining the excellent performance of DC motors and having good starting and speed regulation performance. Because it does not require mechanical commutation, the motor structure is simple, which can fundamentally overcome the disadvantage of general brushless motors that are prone to commutation sparks. It has been widely used in many industrial fields such as aerospace, robots, and CNC machine tools. Starting from the basic working principle of rare earth permanent magnet brushless DC motors, this paper analyzes the difference between rare earth permanent magnet brushless DC motors and ordinary brushless DC motors; explains the design principle of rare earth permanent magnet motors, gives the design method, and then uses examples to illustrate. On this basis, the characteristics of genetic algorithms are introduced, and the genetic algorithm is used to optimize the design of rare earth permanent magnet motors to achieve the expected results. Finally, the influence of the motor\'s structural parameters on the motor performance is discussed. Through the design of rare earth permanent magnet brushless DC motors, some difficult problems to be solved in the specific design are analyzed, and its characteristics are summarized. After optimization with genetic algorithms, some useful conclusions are drawn.
