              lcm fpc design rule 1. Thickness of FPC material a. PI thickness is 12.5um. If 25um PI is selected, FPC will be hard and have poor bending performance; b. COPPER thickness: generally 18um (1/2oz); c. All exposed copper areas must be gold-plated and nickel-plated. The thickness of Ni is 2~5um and the thickness of Au is 0.1~0.2um. Gold plating is to prevent oxidation. If it is too thin, the gold plating process is difficult to control and the anti-oxidation effect cannot be achieved well; if it is too thick, it will affect the welding performance. If the plating is too thick, it is easy to break during welding. For FPC used for connectors, the thickness of gold plating can be appropriately thickened due to the high number of plug-in and unplug times; d. In order to achieve complete fit, the thickness of the adhesive should be slightly thicker than the PI layer. For example, 20um adhesive can be used for 12.5um PI; e. Thickness of the reinforcement plate (including double-sided tape): commonly used are 0.1mm, 0.15mm, and 0.2mm. 2 FPC dimensional tolerance and limit size a. External dimension tolerance: ±0.2mm. b. Relative external dimension tolerance of protective film opening: ±0.30mm; c. Protective film opening aperture, hole position: ±0.10mm; d. Wire width limit tolerance: Line width ≥0.15mm, tolerance is ±0.05mm, line width ≤0.15mm, tolerance is ±0.03mm; e. Gold finger length dimension tolerance: ±0.30mm for external dimension. f. The diameter and position of the mounting holes and through holes on the FPC: ±0.10mm; g. The line margin: ≥0.2mm, the relative size tolerance of the mounting holes, through holes and wires on the FPC is ±0.20mm; h. The relative size tolerance of the reinforcement plate and the outer shape: ±0.3mm; i. The thickness tolerance of the FPC: ±0.03mm; j. The minimum diameter of the gap hole in the steel mold can reach Φ0.50mm. To prevent the hole from breaking, the hole margin should be at least 0.4mm, and the minimum hole diameter of the CNC drilling hole is φ0.20mm (such as the metallized hole on the pad)...
