Remote meter reading technology is a new technology that applies remote data collection, transmission and processing to the supply and management system of tap water, electricity and natural gas (hereinafter referred to as water, electricity and gas). In traditional remote meter reading, wireless systems are generally used for remote communication between data processing centers and data communication centers, and wired communication is generally used for short-distance communication between meters and data communication centers. Nowadays, the embedded hardware platform with ARM processor as the main CPU has the characteristics of small size, strong performance, low power consumption and high reliability. On the other hand, it provides the hardware foundation for high-speed and stable operation of embedded operating systems. Wireless radio frequency communication has low cost, good reliability and strong environmental adaptability. This paper studies the development of radio frequency wireless meter reading system based on ARM. This paper mainly studies the following five aspects of technology: First, it introduces the background and significance of remote meter reading. Second, it introduces the principles and system composition of several typical remote meter reading systems widely used at home and abroad, and analyzes the advantages, disadvantages and applicable scope of various remote meter reading systems; third, based on the needs of the subject, it introduces the embedded system. Fourth, it builds an ARM-based hardware platform. The hardware platform design uses Samsung\'s ARM920T core S3C2440A as the microprocessor. According to the system requirements, the design of S3C2440A peripheral devices is completed, including 64M NAND Flash, 64MSDRAM, SD card and USB, serial communication circuit design, RF wireless communication and video acquisition design. Five is the porting of Windows CE operating system. During the platform porting process, Boot Loader development, OAL layer modification, serial port and LCD driver development, and kernel customization process are carried out. In the application development, the process of exporting SDK in PB and debugging of EVC application programs are carried out, and the database is developed. Finally, the areas that need to be improved in this remote automatic meter reading system and the future development trend of meter reading technology are pointed out.
