Design of direct digital frequency synthesis technology based on MCU+FPGA dual system architecture

This paper introduces a method of implementing DDS technology in MCU+FPGA dual system, focusing on the control system design of MCU and the principle and circuit structure of direct digital frequency synthesis using field programmable logic gate array FPGA, and gives a design implementation scheme using ALTERA\'s Flex10K series EPF10K10LC84-4. DDS technology has far surpassed traditional frequency synthesis technology in a series of performance indicators such as relative bandwidth, frequency conversion time, phase continuity, high resolution and integration. When the number of bits N of the accumulator in DDS is large, the minimum output frequency can reach Hz, mHz or even μHz. If fc is 100MHz, then when N is 40 bits, its resolution can reach 90μHz. The fastest conversion time can reach the order of 10ns, which is incomparable to traditional frequency synthesis.
