The phenomenon of discoloration and blackening of the copper wire surface immediately after annealing or after a period of time can be considered a corrosion process. According to the corrosion theory of metals, metal corrosion is a chemical or electrochemical multiphase reaction on the metal surface or interface, which causes the metal to enter an oxidized state. Based on the characteristics of the corrosion process, metal corrosion can be divided into chemical corrosion, electrochemical corrosion and physical corrosion. The phenomenon of discoloration and blackening of the copper wire surface during annealing can be considered to be chemical corrosion, followed by electrochemical corrosion. After the annealed product is cooled and taken out of the can, the corrosion phenomenon on its surface is mainly electrochemical corrosion that continues.
