Performance analysis of broadband tellurium-doped fiber amplifier with suppressed noise A composite broadband erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDTFA) with an optical isolator was designed. Through numerical simulation of the rate equation and the optical power transmission equation group under the structural model, the performance change of the EDTFA after inserting the optical isolator was theoretically studied. The study shows that the signal gain and noise characteristics of the broadband EDTFA can be effectively improved by inserting an optical isolator to suppress the amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) noise of the reverse transmission. When the optical isolator is inserted at the optimal position under the conditions of fiber activation length of 240cm, erbium doping concentration of 2000ppm and forward pump power of 200mW, the small signal gain of 16 channels in the 1540nm~1600nm band is increased by 0.8dB~5.9dB respectively, and the noise figure is reduced by 0.2dB~2.2dB. The research results have theoretical guiding significance for the application of new broadband EDTFA in WDM communication systems.
