Experimental study on the frequency characteristics of a planar virtual cathode oscillator: This paper introduces the results and analysis of the experimental study on the frequency characteristics of a planar virtual cathode high-power microwave oscillator carried out on the \"Flash II\" accelerator. The results show that the planar virtual cathode oscillator exhibits multi-frequency characteristics, and the frequency changes with time within the microwave pulse width; its frequency distribution is in the C band and the X band, and the main frequency is in the C band; the main frequency is generated by the virtual cathode\'s own oscillation and is equal to the relativistic plasma frequency of the local electron beam. The main frequency has a weak dependence on the diode gap voltage and is inversely proportional to the diode spacing, but has little to do with the cathode size and anode material.
