Taking MOTOROLA\'s MPC555 as the core controller of the powertrain ECU, the specific application of CAN bus in the automotive powertrain control system is studied. CAN bus has become the first choice for the internal communication network of modern automobiles due to its high reliability and strong anti-interference ability. With the improvement of microcontroller performance and the increase in the complexity of automotive ECU software, the use of embedded real-time operating systems as system support environments is a major development trend. This article introduces the hardware interface design of the CAN bus and the MPC555 microcontroller; it gives a software implementation method based on an embedded real-time operating system and using CAN bus communication. After passing the electromagnetic compatibility test (according to standard GB/T17619-1998), the system runs reliably and can meet the needs of automotive applications.
