Vector network analyzer plays a very important role in the scientific research and production of our institute. We currently have two microwave vector network analyzers HP8510B and Aglient 8722ES and one RF vector network analyzer HP8753D, which are widely used in antenna testing, circuit testing, component testing and metrology verification. To make reliable network measurements, it is necessary to have a deep understanding of the network analyzer and the device or circuit to be measured. This paper will discuss the basic principles, structural composition, error correction and characteristic measurement of typical components of vector network analyzer.
