The FM receiver circuit introduced in this article is extremely simple, uses few components, can directly drive the speaker, and its comprehensive performance is superior to the receiving circuit using the TDA7000 series integrated circuit.
The main components of the circuit are a FM receiving dedicated integrated circuit TA8164P and a low-power stereo power amplifier circuit TDA7050. TA8164P contains functions such as high-frequency amplifier, mixing, local oscillator, intermediate frequency amplifier and frequency discrimination. In addition, it also has an AM receiving function, which is not used in this circuit. The high-frequency signal received by the antenna enters the first foot of TA8164P, and after being processed by the internal circuit, the audio signal is output from the 11th foot and then sent to TDA7050 for power amplification. TDA7050 is a low-voltage low-power stereo amplifier. This circuit is connected in BTL mode to obtain greater power and drive the speaker to work.
This circuit can work normally when the power supply voltage is 1.8-6, the static current is about 13mA, the sensitivity is better than 12, the signal-to-noise ratio is 30dB, and the audio output power is 100mW. L1 and L2 are made of 0.6mm enameled wire wound 6 turns on a 5mm drill bit, and the tuning capacitor uses a 3/15pf dual variable capacitor. All components are preferably small in size. The color code of the ceramic filter and the ceramic discriminator should be the same, and a 1m pull-rod antenna is used.
After the production is completed, stretch the distance between the turns of L1 and L2, and adjust the variable capacitor so that the circuit can cover all FM radio stations.
