MCl3135/MCl3136 is Motorola's second generation improved double conversion FM communication receiver chip. It improves the audio recovery and audio drive circuits. The demodulator design of MC13135 uses LC quadrature detectors, and the operational amplifier is used as an RSS1 buffer or data comparator; the demodulator design of MCl3136 uses a ceramic discriminator or LC coil, and the operational amplifier is internally connected as a voltage buffer for the RSS1 output. MC13135/MC13136 is suitable for applications in cordless phones, short-distance data links, mobile microphones, low-cost ground mobile item control, amateur radio receivers, baby monitors and scanners.
The main technical features are as follows:
Fully double conversion FM receiver with one antenna input and one audio output;
Operating frequency is 200 MHz;
The RSS1 voltage buffer has a usable range of 70 dB.
Recovered audio range (VRF=1.0 mV): 170~300 mV/ms for MCl3135, 215~365 mV/ms for MC13136;
The power supply voltage is 2.0~6.0 V (powered by 2 nickel-cadmium batteries);
Current consumption is 3.5 mA (typical);
Audio output impedance is less than 25 Ω;
The first-stage local oscillator uses a crystal oscillator or a voltage-controlled oscillator;
The first-stage local oscillator buffer output drives the CMOS phase-locked loop frequency synthesizer;
Separate tuning diode.
