A very simple high-efficiency motor control circuit can be designed using the SN754410 quadrupled high-current half-H driver, designed to provide bidirectional drive currents up to 1 A. Voltages from 4.5 V to 36 V can be designed. The SN754410 device is designed to drive inductive loads such as relays, solenoids, DC and bipolar stepper motors, and other high-current/high-voltage loads in positive power applications.

All inputs are compatible with TTL and low-level CMOS logic. Each output (Y) is a complete totem pole with a Darlington transistor slice and a pseudo Darlington source driver. Driver enable pair with 1,2 EN and driver 3 and 4 3,4 EN enable enable driver 1 and 2, when the enable input is high, the associated driver is enabled, its output becomes active and its input phase. When the enable input is low, these drivers are disabled and their outputs are turned off and in a high-impedance state. With the correct data input, each driver pair forms a complete H (or bridge) reversible driver suitable for solenoid or motor applications.

As you can see in the circuit diagram the motor drive electronics project requires few external components and separate supply voltage (VCC1that is for the logic input circuit to minimize device power consumption and supply voltage VCC2 for the output circuit.
