The speaker's ground terminal is connected through the node between the power supply and two equal high-value capacitors (typically 1000 μF). The output voltage of the amplifier is VS/2, and the voltage will pass through C1 (if C1 is equal to C2). Like the power supply voltage, the DC voltage remains at zero after passing through the speaker, and will not surge even after it is turned on.
