L298 drives two-phase stepper motor

These three power integrated circuits contain four independent push-pull drivers (i.e.
four half-bridges) that can be used independently. For example, used to drive unipolar windings (four-phase
stepper motor windings ) or control four irreversible DC motors. It can also be composed of two
H bridges, each H bridge has its own enable (ENABLE) control terminal. Each half-car
has its own input control terminal, the control terminal signal is TTL level, and there is a logic
power supply in the chip. The emitters of the L293E and L298 low-side NPN transistors lead to external
pins for connecting the current sensing resistors. The L293E has one current pin per half-bridge , while the L298 has one current pin
per bridge .   L293E or L298 can be combined with the L297 or L6505 stepper motor current controller integrated circuit to form a complete two-phase stepper motor constant current chopper drive circuit (see Section 7). Figures 11 to 15 are stepper motor drive systems composed of L6506 and L298 .
