The integrated circuit has overvoltage, overcurrent and overheating protection functions. LMD18200
is equipped with a current detection circuit, and the power output current of 1A corresponds to the 8-pin output current of
377tiA. It has good linearity and accuracy. A suitable resistor is connected in series from pin 8 to ground
, so that the voltage at pin 8 is about Sv when outputting normal current. It should be noted that the current detection signal cannot reflect the output current
during freewheeling . The overcurrent value set by the protection circuit is about 10A. When the motor encounters overload conditions such as short circuit or blocked rotor, the output power switch will be automatically turned off . However, internal circuitry will periodically return the power switch to normal operating mode. If overcurrent still occurs, the overheating protection will eventually shut down the entire integrated circuit.     The chip is equipped with an over-temperature detection circuit. When the junction temperature reaches 1450C, an overheat alarm signal is generated from pin 9. It is an open-collector transistor output and can be used to make an interrupt request to the host computer. The system can appropriately reduce the load current or order the system to shut down. The output power switch is turned off when the junction temperature reaches 170'C .     This circuit works in a high-frequency switching state, and it is recommended to use the power supply V. A high value ceramic capacitor of about iFtF is connected in parallel between pin 6 and ground . If a large current inductive load is driven, a large electrolytic capacitor must be connected in parallel, at least 100VF per 1A load current, to be used as an absorbing capacitor for the inductive load freewheeling.
