Component list:

A multivibrator is an electronic circuit used to implement a variety of simple two-state systems such as light-emitting diodes, timers, and flip-flops. Would a monostable multivibrator create a condition where one state is stable and another is unstable? The circuit will flip to an unstable state for a determined period of time, but eventually return to a stable state. Such circuits can be used to create fixed-duration timing cycles in response to some external event. This circuit is also called a one-shot. A common application is to eliminate switch bounce.

notes:

R1 and C1 determine the length of the output pulse, where t=R1xC1, R1 in ohms and C1 in farads. You can determine the values of R1 and C1 to get the desired frequency.

Pin 4 is reset. Connect it to power supply (+V) during normal operation. Pull pin 4 and pin 2 low simultaneously to reset the timing cycle.
