Why can't I access the Internet when the wifi is connected? [Copy link]

There may be many reasons why your WiFi is connected but you cannot access the internet. Here are some possible reasons and solutions:

  1. Wireless router issues :

    • Check whether the router is working properly : Confirm whether the router is connected to the Internet normally. You can verify it by connecting other devices to the same WiFi network.
    • Restart your router : Sometimes your router may malfunction or the network may be congested. Restarting your router can solve some temporary problems.
  2. Network setup issues :

    • Check the IP address and gateway settings : Make sure the device obtains the correct IP address and gateway. You can try to use DHCP to automatically obtain an IP address.
    • Check DNS settings : Make sure your DNS settings are correct. You can try using a public DNS server such as Google DNS.
    • Check the subnet mask setting : Make sure the subnet mask is set correctly.
  3. Equipment issues :

    • Restart your device : Try restarting your device; this can sometimes fix temporary network issues.
    • Update the driver : Make sure your wireless network card driver is the latest version. You can update it through the device manager or the manufacturer's official website.
  4. Security Software Issues :

    • Firewalls and security software : Sometimes security software may prevent your device from connecting to the internet. Check your security software settings and temporarily turn off the firewall for testing.
  5. Signal quality issues :

    • Signal strength : Make sure your device is close enough to your router to avoid connection issues caused by weak signals.
    • Channel interference : Try changing the channel of your WiFi router to avoid interference with other WiFi signals.
  6. Operator issues :

    • Contact your network operator : If the above methods cannot solve the problem, it may be a problem with your network operator. You can contact them for consultation and resolution.

By stepping through the possible causes above, you should be able to find the cause of the WiFi connection but inability to access the Internet and take appropriate measures to solve it.
