Abstract : This article mainly introduces the current development of GPRS in the remote measurement and control industry, and explains the important role of this technology in production and life through specific industry descriptions. Overview GPRS is the full name of General Packet Radio Service in English . This wireless service is a new type of packet data transmission service opened on the existing GSM network. It is a set of wireless transmission methods developed based on the concept of " packet switching " . GPRS uses packet switching technology, which allows multiple users to share certain fixed channel resources. GPRS is particularly suitable for intermittent, sudden or frequent, small amounts of data transmission, and is also suitable for occasional large amounts of data transmission. It has the advantages of " real-time online " , " pay-as-you-go " , " quick login " , " high-speed transmission " and " free switching " . At present, the industries in which GPRS is applied include: 1. Industrial telesignaling, telemetry, and remote control 2. Telecommunications industry unmanned station room monitoring and remote maintenance ( such as mobile base stations, micro-stations, microwaves, optical fiber relay stations, etc. ) 3. Urban distribution network automation system and meter reading data transmission 4. High-voltage power equipment monitoring, tap water, gas pipelines, gates, pump stations and water plant monitoring 5. Real-time monitoring and maintenance of urban heat network system 6. Environmental protection system data collection 7. Three-defense and hydrological monitoring 8. Civil air defense alarm equipment monitoring 9. Meteorological data collection 10. Other unmanned ( such as warehouses, office buildings, etc. ) monitoring 11. Finance, retail industry 12. Mobile vehicle monitoring and dispatching system 13. Oil tank and oil pipeline monitoring 14. Urban street light monitoring 15. Mobile office and medical monitoring GPRS is widely used. The actual needs and complex application environment of each industry are very different, so each industry will have its own unique functional requirements and networking methods. 2. Industrial field application Nowadays, many enterprises use GPRS data transmission network to monitor field data. Various sensors are used to collect signals or analyze existing data or analog signals of equipment at industrial sites. GPRS Modem can be connected to various data acquisition instruments through standard interfaces. Generally, the communication interface of field instruments is RS232/RS485 and Ethernet, and the communication interface of GPRS Modem is RS232 and Ethernet. In normal working mode, the GPRS transmission module transmits the data of instruments to the data management server through the mobile communication packet network ( GPRS network). The data server can be connected to the internal network of the enterprise through DDN dedicated line, ADSL , ISDN connection, etc. A central database is established on the server of the control center to organize and store the received data and generate corresponding reports and instructions. And an analysis and decision module can be developed on it to determine the working status of the monitored object (such as whether it is working normally, what abnormal events there are), and make corresponding instructions for the situation, which are transmitted back to the data terminal side for execution, or sent to management and maintenance personnel through SMS. Thus, the real-time monitoring of the operating status of the on-site equipment is realized, and the data is communicated and transmitted between personnel, control center and equipment, so that technicians and managers can get the data of each monitoring point anywhere and respond in time. 3. Low-voltage distribution monitoring application With the gradual deepening of power grid transformation and the rapid development of power distribution network technology, the scientific, economical and effective control of power grid operation must be gradually realized and improved. The automation system of the urban distribution network is an important measure for the power department to improve the power supply quality, reasonably configure power supply equipment, and effectively realize the power demand side management. The low-voltage distribution transformers distributed in cities, suburbs and rural areas have the characteristics of large power saving, dispersion and complex environment. The monitoring, collection and analysis of the operation data of low-voltage distribution transformers, the control status of reactive compensation and remote control have put forward new requirements for the data transmission mode of low-voltage distribution network equipment: real-time, accurate and efficient transmission of distribution data, high-performance and cost-effective equipment configuration, and simple and convenient installation methods. GPRS network supports wireless packet switching function. Its characteristics of always online, fast transmission and flow-based billing well meet the needs of low-voltage distribution network data transmission. At present, the communication mode between data collection nodes and distribution network control center is mainly fixed transmission and field data collection .
Wired transmission such as MODEM dial-up involves a series of problems such as wiring construction, construction cost, safety and reliability; power line carrier is one of the solutions to the problem, but there are defects in the success rate of communication, the status of the power grid, the inability to transmit across transformers, and the allocation of carrier frequency in the event of an accident, so it cannot be effectively applied. The introduction of the GPRS data system has solved this problem. Using the wireless data communication method of the GPRS network instead of the traditional method will overcome the above shortcomings. Under the premise of ensuring timely and accurate data transmission, the system operation cost is also reduced to the minimum. 4. Application of power remote meter reading system The method of knocking on the door to check the meter is a troublesome thing for both the person knocking and the person being knocked. Now many residential users have used prepaid electricity cards, which saves the trouble of checking the meter, but for the power department, data statistics and real-time monitoring are still a problem to be solved. Through the GPRS network system, the power department can transmit the power system data collected by industrial and civil meters to the centralized monitoring center at the prefecture, city and provincial levels in real time to realize unified monitoring and distributed management of power monitoring equipment. GPRS network can provide a simple and efficient communication transmission means for the power system. GPRS system can provide wide-area wireless IP connection. Building a power remote meter reading system on the GPRS business platform of the mobile communication company to realize wireless data transmission of meter data has the advantages of making full use of the existing network, shortening the construction period, and reducing the construction cost. In addition, the equipment is easy to install and maintain. The GPRS power remote meter reading system consists of a distribution center located in the power bureau and a meter data collection point located in the residential area. All meters in the residential area are first connected to the meter concentrator. The electricity consumption data of the residential users is transmitted to the meter concentrator by the multi-rate meter through 485. The meter concentrator is connected to the GPRS transparent data transmission terminal through the RS232 port . The meter data is sent to the GPRS data network of China Mobile after being encapsulated by the protocol . The data is transmitted to the distribution data center through the GPRS data network to realize the real-time online connection between the meter data and the data center system. The meter data collection point is located in the information center of the residential area. The electricity consumption data of the residential users is first connected to the meter concentrator located in the community information center through the RS485 interface through a twisted pair cable. The meter concentrator is then connected to the GPRS transparent data transmission terminal through the RS232 interface . The data is processed by the built-in embedded processor of the GPRS transparent data transmission terminal, and the data is sent to the GSM network after protocol encapsulation. It is transmitted to the power remote meter reading system of the power company data center through the GPRS network to realize the real-time online connection between the meter data and the data center system. The meter concentrator is directly connected to the meter through the RS485 interface. It can support a single meter or multiple meters at the same time, realize the collection, storage, preprocessing of meter parameters, or transmit the collected meter data to the distribution center in real time; at the same time, the meter concentrator can also transmit the remote control instructions sent by the distribution center to the meter control module to control the meter. For the power department, remote substation meter reading has always been a very headache, requiring a lot of manpower, material and financial resources. Because there are many substations and their geographical locations are scattered, it brings great inconvenience to the staff. Power companies can also use GPRS mobile data networks to monitor important power nodes, automatically read relevant data and analyze them, and further perform remote control or equipment maintenance, which can reduce human resources, shorten repair time and save dedicated line construction costs. Five petrochemical industry applications After 50 years of development, China's petroleum and chemical automation has made great progress in automation through technology introduction, digestion and absorption and continuous innovation. The site has developed from manual operation to automatic control, from low-level single-loop control to high-level complex system control, and finally to integrated management and control. In addition, there have been great improvements in automation equipment, technology, function, scale, etc.; measurement and control devices are constantly updated and upgraded. As a special industry, the safety issues of the petrochemical industry often attract people's attention. If all production parts of the petrochemical plant are under the monitoring of the GPRS positioning computer monitoring system, it will be possible to detect the occurrence of dangerous situations in a timely manner, eliminate the dangerous situations, and prevent major property losses and casualties. Taking the gas field station as an example, GPRS technology is used as a data transmission channel to realize 24- hour online detection and alarm of safety information such as natural gas leakage. In addition, when abnormal dangerous conditions occur at the well site, such as overpressure at the wellhead, explosion and loss of pressure in the gas pipeline, or fire alarm, the gas source can be automatically cut off immediately, realizing the transformation of the safety management of natural gas extraction and production from manual monitoring to intelligent information monitoring, further reflecting the safety management principle of " prevention first " and the safety management concept of " people-oriented " . VI. Application in the meteorological industry The meteorological information collection system uses real-time collected meteorological data to make more accurate predictions and alarms for meteorological conditions in a certain period of time in the future, including short-term rainfall forecasts, medium-term rainfall forecasts, and early warning forecasts of floods. It is a very important link in flood prevention work. The construction of a meteorological information collection and transmission system requires a wide data communication coverage, unlimited expansion, and unlimited access locations, which can meet the access needs of mountainous areas, towns, and cross-regional areas. Due to the large number of meteorological information collection points distributed throughout the province, some meteorological information collection points are located in remote areas and are geographically dispersed. In addition, the possibility of future system expansion must be considered, and it must have good scalability. As GPRS has covered most areas, it can meet the coverage requirements of meteorological information collection and transmission systems.
The meteorological system requires extremely high system security and stability. Security is mainly to prevent intentional and unintentional damage from inside and outside the system. Network security protection measures include channel encryption, source encryption, login protection, access protection, access protection, firewall, etc. Stability means that the system can run 7×24 hours uninterruptedly, and the system cannot be interrupted even if hardware and software failures occur. If the meteorological information collection and transmission system is established using the traditional wired method, a dedicated line or telephone line must be rented for connection. Since the meteorological information collection point must be connected to the center at all times, and the amount of data sent each time is very small (between a few K and 10K ), the line resource utilization rate is very low. The average monthly line fee for each meteorological information collection point is 800 to 1200 yuan. If GPRS communication is used, since GPRS uses a data flow-based billing method, resource utilization is high, and the monthly communication fee will be within 200 yuan . Using GPRS to build a meteorological information collection system can not only meet the needs of meteorological information collection, but also network operators will gain stable business group users, and revenue will increase accordingly, which will mobilize the enthusiasm of operators and meet the requirements of synchronous development of network construction and network applications. For users such as the Meteorological Bureau, due to the low communication costs, they enjoy benefits. In addition, since the access equipment can be moved, when the meteorological observation station and meteorological information collection point are relocated, the equipment can be moved and can continue to be used, which can protect the user's original investment and is suitable for the characteristics of meteorological collection work. Seventh Conclusion GPRS wireless data transmission terminal has a wide range of applications, and can be applied to almost all remote data transmission services. It is not restricted by geographical environment, climate, time, and can perform storage and historical query. Therefore, it will be more and more widely used in industrial automation and other fields in China.
