MF RC500 is a member of a highly integrated reader IC family for contactless communication at 13.56MHz. This reader IC family utilizes advanced modulation and demodulation concepts and fully integrates all types of passive contactless communication methods and protocols at 13.56MHz. MF RC500 supports all layers of ISO14443A. The internal transmitter section is able to directly drive the antenna at a short operating distance (up to 100mm) without adding active circuits. The receiver section provides a rugged and effective demodulation and decoding circuit for ISO14443A compliant transponder signals. The digital section handles ISO14443A framing and error detection (parity & CRC). In addition, it supports the fast CRYPTO1 encryption algorithm for authentication of MIFARE products. The convenient parallel interface can be directly connected to any 8-bit microprocessor, which provides great flexibility in the design of the reader/terminal.
