One of the characteristics of SONY is that the standard configuration is low. For example, the memory card, 8M capacity is simply useless. Another example is the standard battery, which has a small capacity and a short service life. Therefore, when people buy a machine, they usually add more large-capacity cards and thick batteries. For these useless things that are "tasteless to eat and a pity to throw away", in fact, as long as you put in some effort, you can upgrade them. Although the recent rumors on the Internet that small-capacity MS cards can be cracked are just false news, the battery can definitely be modified. The following is a PP for modifying several F330s on hand, hoping to inspire others.
The earlier Sony DVs came with this battery as standard. 7.2V 5.0WH (about 700mAH). Take my trv5 as an example, it can only be used for 60 minutes after fully charged. Due to cost factors, it uses low-cost and low-capacity batteries. Let's replace the batteries.
Lithium batteries are difficult to buy on the market. But it is not difficult to find good batteries. Haha, the secret is to go to the company and ask for a few scrapped laptop batteries. Original laptop batteries use imported cells of very good quality. And because the voltage of laptop batteries is usually 12v-14v, they are connected in series by 3-4 groups of lithium batteries. 90% of the reasons for scrapping are that a single group of batteries in the battery has an internal short circuit failure, resulting in a voltage that is too low to be used (in fact, this scrapped battery is easy to repair, but no one likes to repair it, and that's how it is for public things). The picture below shows a pair of cells in a HP battery. The battery originally consisted of 8 cells, 2 in parallel and 4 in series, with a nominal voltage of 14.8v and a capacity of 3200mAH. Due to the internal breakdown of one of the cells, it became unusable. So the bad battery was removed (it is best to scrap the one in parallel with the short-circuited battery) and replaced with 4 cells in series, but the capacity dropped by half after the repair. The remaining 2 good cells are just right for DV battery transformation. The battery is 1600mAH, which is more than double the capacity of the 700mAH cell used in the original F330.
