Does anyone know of any integrated voltage regulator or power module that has an internal current limiting circuit so that the maximum current passing through it does not exceed a certain value, such as 3A, and will not be directly shut down or burned due to a short circuit in the external load?

This is easily accomplished using an external circuit.
