Use and maintenance of automobile ABS system 2

4. When inspecting the wheel speed sensor, be careful not to damage the gear ring teeth and the sensor head. Do not use the gear ring as a fulcrum to pry. Otherwise, the gear teeth will be deformed, resulting in abnormal wheel speed signals and affecting the normal operation of the ABS system. 5. Correctly select brake fluid Since the anti-lock braking system works at a high speed (reducing pressure, maintaining pressure, and increasing pressure repeatedly), which can reach 8-12 times in 1 second, it has stricter requirements for brake fluid. First, the boiling point should be high and the low-temperature fluidity should be good. Second, the corrosiveness should be low and the physical and chemical stability should be good. In addition, since the ABS system has the characteristics of complex structure and long pipelines, cars equipped with ABS system should use DOT3 or DOT4 alcohol-based brake fluid, and ordinary brake fluid should not be used. At the same time, in order to ensure reliable braking, the brake fluid of the same specification is generally replaced after 12 months of use. Because brake fluid has a strong corrosive ability on paint, when inspecting hydraulic components and adding brake fluid, you should prevent the brake fluid from splashing onto the paint surface and causing the paint to lose its luster or change color. 6. Maintenance 1. The ABS system has good working reliability, the failure rate of the electronic controller (ECU) is very low, and it is not allowed to be disassembled for maintenance. Therefore, when the ABS system warning light is on and indicates that the system has a fault, you should first check whether the system wire connectors are firmly plugged in and whether the contact is good. Do not disassemble them blindly. 2. When maintaining the ABS system, first check the conventional brake components, such as whether the wheel hub bearing is loose, whether the clearance between the brake shoe lining and the brake hub is normal, whether the brake disc wear exceeds the limit, etc. Then check the electronic controller (ECU), wheel speed sensor, pressure regulator and other electrical components in the system. 3. It should be noted that the pressure in the brake line of the ABS system is very high. Therefore, when maintaining the brake line and related components, the pressure in the accumulator of the ABS system must be released first to prevent high-pressure brake fluid from spraying and injuring people. 7. Correctly understand the ABS system 1. You must correctly understand the role and function of ABS. You must not be complacent and relax your requirements on braking safety just because you have an ABS system. 2. The pedal of the ABS system will vibrate during operation, which is normal. If the car is equipped with an ABS system, do not hesitate when braking, and press the brake pedal all the way down to use its vibration to effectively dodge. 3. The ABS system also needs to discharge air. When the brake system needs to be pressurized, if there is air in the brake system, it will inevitably hinder the system pressure from rising, causing the reaction speed to decrease, thus affecting the braking effect. 4. The ABS system does not work when the car is driving at low speed. Because there will be no slipping when braking at low speed, the ABS system will only work when the vehicle speed reaches a certain height and the slip rate exceeds a certain value. Therefore, the vehicle speed should be paid attention to when repairing the ABS system.
