No one doubts that the electronics industry has entered the consumer electronics era. What is the consumer electronics era? My personal understanding is that the so-called consumer electronics era is the era of consumer sovereignty. When the PC market was booming a few years ago, there was a famous saying in the home appliance industry, which went something like this: "If consumers buy a home appliance and don't know how to use it, they will curse the manufacturer for being stupid; but if they buy a PC and don't know how to use it, they will only feel stupid and ignorant." While the electronics industry cheers for the arrival of the consumer electronics era, it also faces a grim fact: consumers have become picky, fickle, and cost-conscious. On the other hand, electronic technology is becoming more and more complex, and R&D costs are becoming increasingly expensive. Combined, this means that the electronics industry needs to launch lower-cost, more technically complex products in a shorter time.
