Reflective memory card for PCI interface [Copy link]

The PCI interface reflective memory card is a hardware device used in real-time networks. It integrates reflective memory on the card and connects to the computer through the computer's PCI slot.

This reflective memory card has the following features and advantages:

1. High-speed fiber optic network: Provides high-speed data transmission, and its fiber optic network has a high transmission rate.
2. Specific PCI bus compatibility: such as 33MHz 64-bit/32-bit compatible PCI bus, supporting 3.3V and 5.0V levels; or 66MHz 64-bit/32-bit compatible PCI bus, supporting 3.3V level.
3. Network transmission does not require processor participation: The data transmission process does not occupy CPU resources.
4. Optional redundant transmission mode: Improve the reliability of data transmission.
5. Support more nodes: Up to 256 nodes, data can be shared among multiple nodes.
6. Multi-mode transmission distance is longer: Multi-mode transmission distance can reach 300 meters, and single-mode transmission distance can reach 10 kilometers (different models may vary).
7. Automatically adjust the data packet size: The data packet size can be automatically adjusted between 4 and 64 bytes.
8. Onboard memory with checksum: For example, it has 128MB/256MB onboard memory with checksum.
9. Independent DMA channel.
10. Network interruption with data.
11. Big-endian and small-endian conversion for different architectures in the same network.
12. PIO window size can be set.
13. Wide operating system support: such as Windows, Linux, VxWorks, etc.

When using the PCI interface to reflect the memory card, you need to perform hardware installation (insert the card into the computer's PCI slot, if there are multiple cards, connect them via optical fiber) and software installation (install the corresponding driver).

The main networking modes of reflective memory cards are ring and star. In the ring network, each card is connected in sequence through optical fiber to form a ring structure, and data is transmitted in sequence in the ring network; the star network uses a reflective memory hub device to forward data, similar to the role of a switch, so as to achieve data consistency in the same memory address space on all cards in the star network.

The reflective memory card with PCI interface is suitable for systems with high requirements on data real-time and communication performance, such as industrial control, aerospace, military and other fields, and can realize high-speed, real-time data sharing and communication between multiple devices or systems.

Common PCI interface reflective memory cards include GE's original PCI-5565PIORC series, whose specific models include 128M multi-mode fiber (PCI-5565PIORC-110000), 128M single-mode fiber (PCI-5565PIORC-111000), 256M multi-mode fiber (PCI-5565PIORC-210000), 256M single-mode fiber (PCI-5565PIORC-211000), etc. Different models may vary in transmission distance, memory size, etc., and can be selected according to specific needs. In actual applications, it is necessary to pay attention to the installation specifications and settings of the card, as well as to ensure the correct installation and compatibility of the driver.
