Flyback power supply question [Copy link]

I have a question about flyback power supply. The following figure does not require RC startup or auxiliary winding, and can directly use a three-terminal regulator to power 3843. Is this feasible?

It is feasible, but when there is a short circuit fault in the output, the power supply cannot be protected by hiccups. If the output continues, it will burn!   Details Published on 2024-4-11 10:20

A three-terminal regulator is OK if it is another power source.

Thanks for your reply. May I ask, there is no way to protect the three-terminal voltage regulator from hiccups?  Details Published on 2024-4-11 13:00
