Help with "SIM800C package - semi-circular arc problem" [Copy link]

May I ask, on which layer should the semicircular part in the figure be drawn? Since "KEEP OUT OF AREA" is written at the position of the semicircular part, is it necessary to draw a semicircular PCB?

No, that is for pin welding. It is the shape of the actual object. But when you put the board on the market, you need to draw the package. It is not enough to simply draw the shape of the card. You also need to draw the size of the welding pad corresponding to the pin.   Details Published on 2020-5-24 15:35

No. Just draw the package and roughly outline the shape on the silk screen.

Thanks for the reply. So, the semicircle is just there for decoration, right?  Details Published on 2020-5-24 08:12

The semicircle is the copper foil on the module, not what you want to draw.

This place corresponds to the GSM antenna interface of the module, GSM_ANT

The area marked "Keep out of Area" prompts you to draw an area on the prohibited wiring layer where wiring cannot be done.

When wiring manually, read the hardware manual carefully in advance and pay attention to this

An AD package is provided for reference only. Please carefully compare it with the size of your own sim800c when using it.

Thanks for your reply. Then I also need to solder the semicircle arc when soldering the chip.  Details Published on 2020-5-26 20:44
