The need for precision, low current sources. Testing and characterizing today's small and power-efficient electronic devices requires outputting low levels of current, which requires precision, low current sources. Lower excitation currents produce lower voltages across the device, making them more difficult to measure. The Model 6220 DC Current Source or the Model 6221 AC and DC Current Source in combination with the 2182A Nanovoltmeter can meet these challenges. Differential conductance measurements are one of the most important and critical measurements for nonlinear tunneling and cryogenic devices . Mathematically, differential conductance is the derivative of the device's IV curve. The combination of the Keithley Constant Current Source 6220 or 6221 and the 2182A Nanovoltmeter is the industry's most complete differential conductance measurement solution. These instrument combinations are also the fastest : up to 10 times faster and with much lower noise than other options . The combination acquires data in a single measurement, eliminating the need to average the results of multiple scans - a time-consuming and error-prone process. Moreover, the 622X and 2182A are easy to use because their combination can be used as a single unit.
