Discussion: 6G is on the way, what about 5G? [Copy link]

According to relevant reports, descriptions of 6G mobile communication related technologies have appeared in the newspapers. The theoretical download rate of 5G is 10GB (Byte) per second, which is 10 times the current 4G Internet access rate, while the theoretical download speed of 6G is 100 times that of 5G, reaching 1TB per second, and it is expected to be commercially available in 2020. When the media's promise of a better life brought by 5G communication has not yet been implemented, such news is simply unexpected. Regarding the application of delay-free network speed, everyone has expressed their own views, both imaginable and unimaginable, as if once 5G is implemented, it will immediately bring earth-shaking changes to life. However, the large-scale commercial deployment of millimeter wave 5G is still a problem. This is the case with 5G's millimeter wave, not to mention the higher frequency band of 6G.

On the one hand, 5G has not yet been implemented, and on the other hand, 6G is on the way. Is 5G a transitional product or a product of the era? Please express your opinions.

It's just a commercial gimmick. Many new technologies derived from 5G have just started, not to mention 6G.   Details Published on 2021-12-21 16:44

According to some theories, odd-numbered xGs are transitional, and even-numbered ones are stable, just like 2/3/4G. However, 5G has not yet been officially popularized, and it will not be widely used until next year or the year after next. Only then can we see the real situation.

It is probably a transitional product. I feel that a big key issue with 5G is deployment and cost.

They haven't been used yet, the road is tough, 6G is just a follow-up, 5G commercialization has not yet been rolled out, it's just hype
