Maxim Launches Complete Line-Output Solution for Audio Systems Online Time: November 29, 2005
Maxim Integrated Products has launched a square audio line driver MAX9727 based on DirectDrive technology. This device provides a complete line-output solution for consumer audio systems. When powered by a single 5V or 3V power supply, the MAX9727 output signal is 3VRMS and 2VRMS respectively. DirectDrive technology can establish an on-
chip negative power supply, which enables the MAX9727 line driver to output full-scale signals under single-power supply. In addition, the output signal of the device is zero-biased, so it does not require DC-blocking capacitors to improve low-frequency response, reduce distortion and reduce costs.
At the same time, the MAX9727's integrated differential input can also improve system noise management. The gain can be precisely controlled through external resistors, with a PSRR value of 100dB, a signal-to-noise ratio of 111dB, and a THD+N of 0.0005%.
The MAX9727 is mainly aimed at applications such as multi-channel PC sound cards, STBs, A/V receivers, DVD players, and portable media players. The product adopts small lead-free 20-pin QSOP package, operates over the temperature range of -40℃ to 85℃, and is priced at 79 cents per unit in quantities of 1,000 or more (for reference only).
