Power management is a basic module in electronic systems. Smartphones, computers, and most electronic products we know need this module to realize their own functions. With people's pursuit of portability of electronic products, the growth of computing power, and the diversification of sensors, power management design has higher requirements. In order to meet the higher requirements of new power supply design, we can't think that as long as we have a voltage rail with good performance, we don't need to consider other parts of the power supply design. What issues should we consider most in power supply design? Which parameter of the power supply is critical when powering a known load? How to infer the performance of the power supply under various conditions from known information? Using a low dropout regulator (LDO) is a common method to convert a higher voltage input to a slightly lower stable output voltage while maintaining a small output-input voltage difference. In most cases, LDOs are easy to design and use. However, the current mainstream applications usually include multiple analog and digital systems. We will choose the most suitable LDO for this application based on the characteristics of these systems and working conditions.
