Wi-Fi is an important technology that allows devices to connect directly to each other, to a wide area network, or simply to the Internet for remote monitoring and control of systems. Therefore, it is becoming a major driver of the rapid growth of IoT. Atmel offers a range of standalone, low-power systems-on-chip (SoCs) that bring Wi-Fi connectivity to any embedded design. Atmel's Wi-Fi solutions provide an ideal solution for embedded designers looking to integrate Wi-Fi connectivity into their systems, whether in the form of SoCs or certified modules. This opens the door to the Internet of Things for a large number of battery-powered devices and applications that require integrated WLAN connectivity without sacrificing cost and power consumption. These Wi-Fi solutions are based on Atmel's industry-leading ultra-low power Wi-Fi SoCs and can be combined with Atmel's broad portfolio of microcontroller technologies. These turnkey systems provide integrated software solutions, as well as production-ready applications, including integrated network services (TCP/IP stack) and standard real-time operating systems (RTOS), integrated through Atmel's Studio 6 Development Platform (IDP) provided.
