3. Find the gateway driver, double-click or drag and add it to the TIA Portal

4. Configure the gateway IP address. Please note that the IP addresses of the three (PLC, gateway, and local machine) should be on the same network segment, otherwise the communication will not be able to be connected normally.

5. Connect the gateway to the PLC in the TIA Portal.

6. Open the gateway configuration software, click Profinet in the menu bar, and import the provided GSD file

7. Click the second menu bar and select Modbus RS-485. Note: Except for configuring a 6-channel gateway, you need to configure the communication parameters starting from Modbus 1. For the rest, you need to configure the communication parameters starting from Modbus 3.

8. Click Local IP Configuration in the menu bar, click the drop-down menu of Master-Slave Mode and select Mastor, and keep the rest of the configuration as default.

9. In the menu bar, click Data Mapping, click New Panel, and click Add to add the first slot.

10. Note: Change the slot number to 1, change the Module ID to CH1, and keep the rest as default.

11. Add the second and third slots and other slots, and add read and write instructions according to site needs. Note: The added slots should be consistent with the TIA Portal configuration.

12. Except for the six-channel gateway, the Modbus serial number starts from 3, so this case selects 3

13. Click Configuration Distribution - Connect. The default gateway IP address is 192.168.0.5, and the port remains the default.

14. After the connection is successful, click on the configuration to send. Note: If the configuration is not downloaded successfully, the gateway cannot be searched when TIA Portal assigns the gateway name.

15. Return to TIA Portal and right-click to assign a gateway name

16. Click Update List, select the searched device and click Assign. Click Close when completed.

17. Right-click and select Complete Rebuild of Hardware in Compilation

18. Click the Download button to download the configuration to the gateway: Port subnet connection: Select PNAE_1, click Start Search, select the searched device, click Download, and follow the prompts to complete the download.
