This case is a Siemens 1200 PLC connected to a YE series stepper drive. In normal operation, it must support the EtherCAT protocol and act as an EtherCAT slave. The monitoring system Siemens S7-1200 series PLC supports the PROFINET protocol. In this case, the EtherCat to ProfiNet gateway module produced by Beijing Kaijiang Intelligent Technology is used to achieve the overall interaction between the PLC and the servo drive. The following figure provides an overview of the automation task. The EtherCat to ProfiNet gateway module connects the Siemens S7-1200 PLC (PROFINET) and the YE series stepper drive communication.
1. First, import the EtherCat to ProfiNet gateway GSD file into the Siemens PLC configuration software;
2. Find the folder where GSD is located;
3. Add the EtherCAT to Profinet gateway module and set the EtherCat to ProfiNet gateway IP address and device name;
4. Add the input and output byte lengths;
5. Save the configuration and download it to the PLC, open the EtherCat to ProfiNet gateway configuration software, add the slave servo, and first download the slave XML file from the official website;
6. Open the configuration software, click Tools and select Import ESI file;
7. Select the unzipped file, refresh the library and display the device and select it from the device list;
8. Create a new project and set the EtherCat to ProfiNet gateway IP and device name (keep consistent with the PLC configuration, such as changing pn2ecat to pn1);
9. Set some basic parameters of the slave station (the station numbers are usually sorted automatically, so just keep the default values);
10. Set the PDO parameter allocation of the slave station according to the process requirements, such as speed mode, position mode, etc.
11. In this example, 3 parameters are set in RPDO1 and 1 parameter in RPDO2. (One PDO can be configured with multiple parameters, which depends on the slave description file) 6 parameters are set in TPDO1 by default, which can be added or deleted as needed, or placed in other TPDOs;
12. After confirming that the configuration is correct, click "Operation" - "Connect";
13. Then the pre-run and run will become black optional states. Click pre-run-run in turn to download the configuration to the gateway. Connect the PLC to the gateway and third-party devices. When the Ok light is on, it means that the Profinet communication is normal. The RUN light is always on, and the err light is off, which means that the EtherCAT communication is normal. The Rx PDOs of the slave station correspond to the slave station's receiving, that is, the sending Q address of the master station. The Tx PDOs correspond to the slave station's sending, that is, the receiving I address of the master station. After the communication is normal, you can read and write the IQ addresses corresponding to the PLC and other Profinet master stations.
