Runtime Environment (RTE)
The AUTOSAR CP Runtime Environment (RTE) is a core component in the AUTOSAR architecture. It implements the interface of the AUTOSAR Virtual Function Bus (VFB) and provides communication infrastructure and services for accessing basic software components (such as operating systems). The functions and significance of RTE are as follows:
Communication infrastructure: RTE is responsible for managing the communication between application software components. It provides a message passing mechanism and an event triggering mechanism, so that application software components can send and receive messages to each other and realize data exchange and sharing.
Access to basic software components: RTE provides a service interface for accessing basic software components (such as operating systems). Application software components can call operating system functions such as task scheduling and resource management through RTE. In this way, application software components can be independent of specific operating systems, improving the portability and reusability of the software.
Component mapping and scheduling: RTE is responsible for mapping application software components to specific ECUs and performing task scheduling. It allocates application software components to different ECUs based on system configuration and constraints and ensures that the system runs as expected.
Standardized interfaces: RTE defines
standardized interfaces with AUTOSAR OS and application software components. These interfaces ensure interoperability and compatibility between different components and simplify the system development and integration process.
The significance of RTE is that it provides a standardized method to develop and manage software for automotive electronic systems. It implements a modular, reusable and scalable architecture, improving development efficiency and system reliability. At the same time, RTE also supports the standardization of automotive communication protocols, allowing different automotive electronic systems to interconnect and communicate. By using RTE, automakers and suppliers can develop and integrate automotive electronic systems more efficiently, reducing development costs and time.
Application Software (ASW)
AUTOSAR CP application software (ASW) is part of the AUTOSAR architecture, which includes application software components and functions of automotive electronic systems. The function of ASW is to implement various functions and behaviors of automotive electronic systems, such as engine control, braking system, body electronics, etc. The significance of ASW is to provide a standardized method to develop and manage software for automotive electronic systems, so that software from different manufacturers and suppliers can be compatible and interactive with each other. By using ASW, automakers can develop and integrate various functional modules more efficiently, improve development efficiency and system reliability. At the same time, ASW also provides a modular and reusable design method, making software maintenance and updating easier. In short, the function and significance of ASW is to promote the standardization and interoperability of automotive electronic systems, improve development efficiency and system reliability.
