Step 1: Determine the functionality you need to implement
The function automatically turns on the light when it senses someone is there. Then it will automatically turn off when the owner goes out, thus achieving intelligent power saving, which is a benefit for careless people.
Step 2: Determine the Parts to Use
If you want to sense people, you definitely need a sensor. There are three types of sensors to choose from: ultrasonic sensor (which can detect whether an object is in front of you); infrared sensor (the sensor can sense people after they pass through infrared rays); and human body sensor (which can sense human bodies). Choose the right sensor based on your specific situation.
Step 3: Choose the right control chip
After selecting the sensor, you must choose the chip that controls the sensor. You need to process the sensor data and then let the receiver take action. The function we need to complete now is to turn on and off the light. There are three chip options: STM32 (stronger performance), 89C51 microcontroller (average performance but simpler programming), and ARM processor (expensive, but the best performance). Choose according to your own suitable scenario.
Step 4: Choose the appropriate data transmission channel
There are two ways of data transmission: wireless and wired. Wireless does not require you to worry about the layout of wires, but its stability and anti-interference are not as good as wired ones. It should be used according to appropriate scenarios.
